About M36
Scale Modeller, Researcher,
CAD Designer.

Hello! My name is Jackson. I began building models when I was 16- I stumbled into the hobby shop in my hometown and saw Italeri’s “Fury” kit. Having shared a common interest in military history with my dad, and the recent movie on my mind, I picked up the kit and bought it. Despite that first kit being Italeri, I stuck with it.

The serious work started 5 years later when I began volunteering at a local, large collection of military vehicles. Volunteering there opened my eyes to the more historical side of the hobby, and from then onwards, I began approaching each build as a research project in its own right — studying primary sources, period photographs, and technical manuals before the kit even leaves the box.

My focus is typically armor subjects, from WWI through the Cold War — with a preference towards US subjects (and even more specifically, the M4 Sherman!)

This website is my attempt at providing a more robust way of finding my various STLs, as well as a place to publish my research on specific historical subjects I find interesting.

Everything here is made by a singular, young college student with no particular agenda except getting it right.

Not at this time. My builds are primarily research-driven personal projects, and I prefer to focus on subjects where I can dedicate the time needed to get the details right. That said, feel free to reach out — I'm always happy to discuss potential collaborations.

I currently use Autodesk Inventor to design and an Anycubic Mono 4k printer to print all my STL detail parts. My print settings are something I'm happy to discuss via email if you're interested in getting into 3D printing for scale modelling.

My STL files are sold through Cults3D for personal use only. Commercial use, redistribution, or resale of printed parts is not permitted without explicit written permission. If you're interested in a licensing arrangement, please get in touch.

Unfortunately, I do not have the time to devote to printing commercially. That being said, if you have a friend with a 3D printer, feel free to buy the STLs and have them print it for you.

I chose the name "M36 Modelling" for two reasons: The first, and more obvious, is the nickname for the M36 GMC- often (potentially eroneously) referred to as "Jackson". The second reason is a bit more personal- the M36 GMC is the first tank I ever worked on as a restorationist.
